I have a friend that has about a thousand purses in various different colors. They are very pretty and, at times, I think about how I would love to have such a variety.
Then I come down to earth again.
I don’t have the time in the morning to switch out bags to coordinate with my outfit. I have a few bags in neutral colors hanging in our closet off the garage, so I use them.
I made most of them.
They need to serve a few purposes.
#1 They have to potentially fit my Macbook Air for work and a folder or two
#2 They have to fit my journal, my phone, my wallet, my iPod and various other “girl stuff” that we can’t live without.
These are purses I have made and currently use:
A friend pinned a leather bag from Rib and Hull. A very spendy (in my opinion) leather bag that would take me less than an hour to make. It’s simple and pretty…and very, very simple.
Did I say simple?
I don’t think it has any pockets in it! Now leather isn’t cheap, but come on…no pockets, even?? I’d throw my keys in there and lose them for a week!
Thus, the reason why I make my own bags…
I feel another bag-making-itch coming on!
I need a new bag for Fall, right?? 🙂
Stacy, I don’t know if you sell your stuff online or locally, but it looks like you make unique, well-crafted purses that would be very popular. I can see why you’d want to carry your own creations; they are incredibly gorgeous.
I rarely change purses, either, for lack of time. When I do, it seems like such a long time to get everything relocated, and then another long time to get used to the new location. One day I know I’ll find my Forever Purse and just keep buying it over and over and over 🙂
Just wanted to let you know that our bags do have an interior zip pocket and some parts are hand stitched and that definitely takes time 🙂
