Walker style

I started sewing for another custom fabric group called Affordable Fabrics, and she is in the same area as I am. This top is part of the current round that is open, and is inspire by The Walking Dead tv show. It is a post-apocalypse type of show, so I geared this design towards that genre.

The saying on the panel is from the first show, where Rick is in the hospital and seeing the zombie apocalypse for the first time. The character is Michonne with two walkers on chains. I haven’t quite gotten to that part of the series yet. I keep on getting to the end of Season two (I think), go watch something else, and then go back to the beginning. I know it is basically like the Game of Thrones, though…don’t get too attached to any character!

I used the Sneha by Wardrobe by Me as the base and then added an overlay that looks like this:

The hood pieces were actually two more than shown above. I added a band around the hood and then there is a center piece.

The arms are very much blocked and pieced. I added a zipper pocket and pintucks to one side. The other has some hardware and overlays.

The top overlay is connect with the cut at the high arm. I added some hardware to it as an accent.

The Sneha is drafted in such a way that you can add different skirts to it, so the top and bottom pieces are separate. I used that separation to add and accent scuba faux leather band. I used the scube faux leather in several places here.

The skirt I added an overlay of a holey knit fabric I found locally. I would have done a full overlay, but I didn’t have enough fabric.
