The rockstar clothing S.W.A.P.

September 8, 2012

This past week I took my annual first-week-of-school-sewing-bonanza-time-off.  I managed to work out most mornings and then do some sewing.

Gettin’ stuff done!  Whoo hoo!

The girl wanted rock star clothes (BLING) and she likes black.  This turned into a S.W.A.P. (sewing with a plan).  I wanted to have a wardrobe that she could mix and match.  I took out pretty much all my apparel fabric and stared at it for a few hours while I was picking out what I wanted each piece to look like.  This became a 5 bottom, 5 top, 1 hoodie, and 1 swimsuit matching wardrobe.  She can’t really wear the swimsuit with the rest, but it matches!

Here is the wardrobe:

Basically, I made all the patterns.  The bling on the shirts are iron-on crystals from Dharma Trading Company.  I bought the mylar carrier sheets, too, since that is how I made the designs so nice and neat.  You just take the backing off the sheets, place it over the design, and place the crystals glue side up on the sheet over the design.  I drew the designs, too.

This should last her until her next growth spurt.

  1. Wow! You have totally nailed it with the Rock Star vibe. Anya looks gorgeous in her new wardrobe. You are so clever (and productive). I’m in awe.

  2. Wow! Anya sure has one awesome wardrobe and no one else will look as lovely as her. Wish I could sew like that! Oh well, life is tough sometimes. You did a super job Stacy.
