Still fit…

July 13, 2012

Finally Friday, and casual day at the office.  This means jeans for me.  Even though it is going to be around 90 degrees outside, in my office it will be in the low 70’s with an air-conditioning unit blowing on me all day.  Therefore, I shall freeze!

These jeans are pre-kids, pre-pregnancy jeans.  I always heard that when you had kids your hips likely got a bit bigger, but luckily that didn’t happen to me.  I can still wear a lot of the clothes I had before kids, they are just a little tighter.   I finally got to wear this belt, though.  I bought it about a year ago and it is on the short side.  It barely fits, but since these jeans have a higher rise I can wear it with them.  It does not fit at all on the lower rise pants.

It is interesting how our bodies change at we get older.  I am around the same weight I was in high school, but my body is far different. I have less muscle mass and am far more squishy.  This is due to 15 years sitting in an office chair, of course.   I grew up on a farm, so we were quite often doing chores outside or riding horses.  Lots of activity, movement and not much “down time”.  I miss those days when you would fall into bed at night completely exhausted from spending all your energy.  It was a fulfilling exhausted.  It is something definitely missing from my current sedentary life.  Even when I am working out, I am never that exhausted.

Jeans – Long and Lean – The Gap

Shirt and Cardigan Sweater –  Express

Earrings – Silpada

Necklace – Pendant from Michael’s with a random silver chain

Shoes – Marshall’s

Hair – I tried to do this hairstyle that I found while browsing Pinterest.  Again, my hair was a bit too long to do it like they have it shown.  I have about 20 pins trying to hold my hair up inside, but it looks okay, think.

  1. I just love that cardigan. Nothing like a great little elbow sleeve sweater for warmer months. 90 degrees is much too hot for me too. Fortunately in Seattle it doesn’t happen all that often but we’ll be most likely moving to a warmer climate in about 10 years.
