My daughter wanted a satin slip dress, so I set about drafting a pattern for her.
I purchased some satin in one of my patterns from Spoonflower:

It started out with more of a fitted top, but I didn’t think that it was going to fit correctly, so will draft a different version…eventually.
I gathered one side of the bodice piece, added a binding and then loops for the strap.

The other side is just hemmed. The back part of the bodice is lined with an invisible zipper that goes down into the skirt.

Unfortunately due to the bias parts the back hem is not even. Generally you want to hang these dresses before hemming, but I was impatient.
It turned out very cute on her, and it is a very light-weight dress:
