Rockstar clothes

July 17, 2012

Even though Anya really doesn’t need more skorts and tops, I decided to make her a few more.

She wore this first one right away on a very hot day at the horse races.  I made it for summer wear, but the black was not helping her out in staying cool.

The skort is a pretty thin black crinkle knit with silver butterflies.  I mistakenly made the 3rd tier too short, but she has her bike shorts underneath.  That should negate any too-shortness.

The top is a slippery rayon knit with a bit of sparkle.  I upped the sparkle factor but adding this appliqué I bought last spring on my fabric excursion.  It has iron-on stickiness on the back side, so I carefully ironed it onto the fabric and then stitched along the seam line.  The back of the neckline is just a simple bias binding with the knit.

This next one is using the holographic slinky knit that I tried to use for a leotard.  It only has to stretch across, so this works.  I added a white cotton knit underneath for the bike shorts.  It goes rather well with this Packers shirt that I upcycled from one of mine.  It was too tight (purchased pre-kids), so I rarely wore it.  It was a fitted long sleeve t-shirt.  I kept the neckline, and cut the sleeves where they would fit on my sleeve pattern.

I am sure I will eventually get pictures of her wearing it.

I have a few more things in the hopper.  Just need to get pictures taken.  I also have a pile of things to make, and the busy-ness of summer is not helping make it smaller.  Hopefully, I will get time to tackle it soon.

Not right now, though.
