This skirt is one of the first skirts I had made after years of not making much at all for myself. That was probably about 5 years ago, I think. It is a pretty simple skirt in stretch apparel weight fabric with an elastic waist.
The shirt was a “sorta copy” of an item I bought at an expensive boutique. The simple cotton shirt was $70, so I traced it out and brought it back to the store. I honestly don’t know why I bought it, since it was such a money waste. Sometimes in the euphoria of shopping you can lose your head!
Top and skirt – Made by Me
Shoes – BCBG
Necklace/Earrings – Lillian’s
Hair – I did a spiral braid along the front and then pinned it up around the front. The rest is just my natural wave. It is getting less red now that I have washed it a few times. Dang that red! It just doesn’t stay in all that long. Back to more of an auburn color.

I love that top. What a great way to get some inspiration and make a pattern at the same time. I can get seduced in boutiques when I let myself go in them occasionally. The atmosphere, the scent, sometimes the things just seem so much nice and often times they are.
The shirt and skirt are beautiful and I marvel at their sewing style.
