Well, here is a new sweater that I acquired in my getting-ready-for-winter shopping. I can wear a fitted long-sleeved shirt underneath it when the weather turns colder. I actually paid full retail for it, which is something I try not to do. As we are at the beginning of sweater shopping season, I couldn’t find much in the way of sales. Bummer.
I have held off, but it is time to switch out the clothes for the season. I live in an area where winter starts by the end of October usually and goes until mid-April. Winter clothes are needed for a good chunk of the year. Sandal weather is officially over! Now it is time to bring out the boots, booties and tights. Time to put away those tanks and get out the turtlenecks. I wish the summer lasted longer, and so do our fish.
We have a pond (as you could see from my pictures) in our backyard. It takes overflow from our sump pump in the basement, so we decided to stock it with some fish. At first we just bought a bunch of 17 cent goldfish. Most of them survived, so we gave away the excess at the end of the Fall to an owner of a fish store. The rest we kept inside in a fish tank until spring. Now those little 17 cent goldfish are 6 inches long. The don’t all fit in one tank anymore. Last winter we pushed it putting them all in one tank and 2 died. This year we are getting another tank, so hopefully they will all survive.
Winterizing takes many forms, doesn’t it?!
Top – LOFT
Skirt – JC Penny
Necklace and Earrings – Made by Me
Shoes – Rampage
Hair – Braided first one side almost the whole way around, only adding hair from the bottom. Braided that off to the end. Then took the other side and did a similar braid. Braided off to the end. Then I took the two braids and twisted them around each other and secured with an elastic.
That sweater is a classic and looks great on you. I almost bought a deep blue sweater yesterday at Steinmart, but put it back, knowing full well I’ll get a coupon soon 🙂
Winterizing fish! That’s another I haven’t heard of before. I need to get the pool floats off the front porch, that’s for sure 😮
