Sewing | Sewing for the girl

Jammies

March 1, 2015

Suuuuuuuper exciting, I know!

In the interest of trying to keep to my 2015 goals in trying to sew up some of my fabric stash, I made the girl jammies instead of going off to buy some $14 jammies at Target.  Granted these don’t have pop culture references or characters on them, but they will be comfortable.  This also gives me a chance to use knits that are a little thin on their own for shirts outside of the house, but are still nice and soft.

This is a tissue knit and flannel pants.

There wasn’t anything too complicated about these, so they were pretty simple to sew up.  The shirt is a close fitting shirt I drafted for her, and the pants are an elongated, and without the bottom cuff, Elegance and Elephants Retro Sweatpants.  I also didn’t put in the pocket.

This one is a red tissue knit with sparkly bits on it, and the pants are a thermal knit.

The month of February was stash game at SewingMamas.com, so you were supposed to sew up your stash and not buy anything.  I did not buy anything and seemed to sew up several items.  I have a few to show yet, as I tested a few new patterns last month.

My February totals of sewing and giving away stash were:

Sewing:  24.25 yards

Given away:  41 yards (this was from the projects at church with the teenagers)

Pretty good for the month!
