My accomplishments
Focus Photo –
First snow of the season!
Sewing –
I finally got to share the Fabric Anthropology makes I had worked on this past month:
- #makenine progress: The first outfit above has the bolero that was on my #makenine, so now I have 4 out of 9 done. I need to get the rest finished up!
- I also made a jumpsuit for the Fabric Anthropology line for the girl, but pictures were challenging. It has turned cold and time has been hard with her. I missed the pre-order timeframe, but I will get pictures for retail.
- I finished up a loom knitted scarf that I have made for a Pride auction to come in December. It was a huge pain to get the leather on and wasted a bunch. This was a very expensive charity donation! I hope it sells well. I will make a post when the auction opens up.
- I made the girl a bamboo French terry olive green top. Just a simple make, but comfortable. Something that will likely be in heavy rotation, as all simple, comfy items tend to do.
- Made myself some lounge pants, which ended up being a bit too big. I was trying to recreate a pattern that I had lost, which I am really bummed about. I have NO IDEA what happened to it, and it is a bit maddening.
- Made myself a black cardigan from bamboo fleece. So cozy and pretty. I will get photos for the blog.
- Made myself a black modified Sneha top. Will get pictures.
- Made a fun top for a strike off that is due for November. Will get pictures and show it then. I also made a top to go underneath. They look pretty cool together. Plus, it is in my kids’ school colors, so it will get worn a lot to sporting events.
- To Make:
- I have 2 strikes I need to get made (including the one that matches the scarf so well!)
- Another #makenine! What’s next? Maybe the fur vest?
- Black joggers for the girl (already cut out)
- Black top from FT for the girl (already cut out)
- Some GB Packers lounge pants for me (already cut out)
House cleaning –
I painted the guest (my) bathroom last week, and cleaned out some of the cupboards in it. I will show it off once it is all put back together. I designed a shower curtain for it, so I need to get that ordered first.
Time with family –
Well, we got family pictures last week! I try to get pictures every year, even though last year it was only 3. We headed out for pictures and then a storm showed up, so we settled for a few quick pictures while the mosquitos were eating us alive. This year was a little better planned. We headed down to a nature area, walked in and got some nice pictures. My focus was off on most of the family ones, but they will be good enough. I took the pictures of my kids without the remote, so those were all good.
Health, exercising, making healthy meals –
- Exercised once. Yeah…need to work on that.
- Meals – I am going to try to actually document the homemade meals I have made. This was last week:
- Monday – Crockpot – dried pinto beans and polish sausage, topped with avocado, sour cream and aged cheddar.
- Tuesday – Ham steak with roasted balsamic brussel sprouts.
- Wednesday – French onion soup in the crockpot
- Thursday – Night out with the ladies, and everyone had a very late lunch. No cooking for me that night.
- Friday – frozen pizza…so healthy
- Saturday – Was a bit a mess. We were waiting on friends to decide on dinner, and they finally got back to us at 9pm that they were staying in. Had the kids make mac & cheese earlier in the night and then hubs and I just ate some leftovers
- Sunday – Walking tacos…again, so healthy. At least it had lettuce and peppers!
Creative Design –
Made a shower curtain, so hopefully it will print nicely. I might need to make some changes. I think it might be too busy and the background may need to be lightened up a bit.
Reading –
I’m taking snippets of time to read Frankenstein. It is amazing how books from the past are so much more eloquent with words than those written today. Not that today’s writers cannot write well, but the vocabulary and use of words is so much more “full-bodied”. It is also much harder to read, as you need to concentrate on it.
As you can see, I actually had time to do stuff last week. The kids had a few days off of school, and sports ended last Wednesday. We had a mostly free weekend, even! I spent much of Saturday cutting out fabric and then sewed up a few things on Sunday before hubs and I went to a Phil Collins concert. I have three things cut out to sew up right now, and then I can work on the two strikes I need to get finished up.
My job is also slowing down (though, I know some of it is temporary…November and early December will likely still keep me busy before I am done at the end of the year). I am going to use these next few weeks to catch up on stuff around the house and hopefully get some things checked off my to do list.
