Yeah, pretty much all of June has been just trying to keep up with all of the practices, games and tournaments. Not much else has gotten done.
My accomplishments
Focus Photo –
This has pretty much been our lives…at the ballfield.
Sewing –
The month of June I did not get a lot done (for me). I actually went shopping with my daughter for summer clothes, since I knew I wouldn’t have time to make much. I hadn’t purchased much fabric this year until the last few weeks. I did order some pre-order fabrics and went to the local fabric store. I was doing so well!
- Participated in a blog tour. The dress was from May, but the sweater was made for the tour.
- I also made some other things for me that I need to get photographed, and then I need to make something for the boy for another blog tour. Winding down on what I need to get sewn up. I have two more strike-off sets that I have volunteered to sew and then a big sewing project for the fall that I need to work on, too. I’m cutting down on what I volunteer to do. One of my groups disbanded their strike-off group, and I’m not really sad. I love the fabric, but it’s gotten a bit much. I don’t get a lot of interaction on my posts anymore either. I think people are getting tired of seeing me. That’s fine…I’m getting tired of seeing me right now, too. 😉
House cleaning –
- It’s a mess truly. The kids are home for the summer and they are professional mess makers. I’m trying to make a list at the beginning of the week for what they need to do. So far it is not working so well.
- I did have the girl try to give up her overabundance of stuffies. She went through them and got rid of most of them. I washed them up and the ones in good condition are going to the Pine Ridge Reservation. They can use them for presents for the kids.
Time with family –
- We spent a lot of time apart with just one of the kids and one parent. Soon we will be able to come together again once the tournaments wind down. After July.
Health, exercising, making healthy meals –
- Starting to exercise again. It is a work in progress. I am getting back into it…albeit slowly, since I cannot fit into hardly any of my jeans anymore. It’s a bit depressing, but all in my control.
Creative Design
- I have been watching some You Tube videos on pattern drafting in Illustrator, so I’m ready to give it a shot. I will try some of it out, hopefully soonish. I found this one pretty helpful in taking a hand-drawn pattern and getting it into Illustrator.
- I also purchased some pattern drafting books that will hopefully help with grading. The drafting part is not my issue…it is the grading part.
- Not too much drawing. I was mostly drawing things to make to get ideas. This I finished at a baseball tournament.
- This one was from a few games and then I finished it up on the 4th of July.
Reading –
I did get several books by Jessica Scott read last few weeks. She is a veteran that writes stories about veterans picking up their lives after war. They are love stories, and goes through several related characters. Quick reads and good stories. I think I have read pretty much all of her books. These were the ones I read:
- After I Fall
- Catch My Fall
- Until We Fall
I have a few more commitments this summer for sewing, but they shouldn’t take too long. I want to make some purses and hopefully get some patterns drafted in Illustrator. I think a purse pattern would be a good starting point.
Oh, no, not tired of seeing you at all! You and your daughter (and son) are beautiful. I love how you give an update on what you got accomplished. It’s nice to know someone else doesn’t get everything done. I think you do amazing considering how busy you are with your children. Trust me, I know, but some day you will miss that time with them.
Thank you, Connie! I know we will miss the days eventually when we were so busy running the kids all over the place. I’m trying to keep that in mind when I get so exhausted and the house and yard are a mess since we don’t have time to do much with them. Live in the moment, right?? 🙂
