Look at me, trying to get this post up on time for once!
Last week was another trying week. Found out Sunday afternoon that the girl child could play in the high school softball B squad, BUT practice started on Monday, AND she didn’t have a physical on file. We sent her anyways. Learned on Tuesday she needed clearance from the orthopedic surgeon, even if she had a physical on file. They didn’t get it to the school until Thursday, when the trainer wasn’t there. She FINALLY got to practice with the team on Friday when she had gone there all week long. Another frustrating week, which ended with us finding out that she basically needed a phone so she could be on a group chat with the other girls on the team. The coach makes last minute, mid-day changes to their schedule. So. Awesome.
My accomplishments this week
Focus Photo –
I got some nice pics of my daughter for a pattern test, but of course I can’t share those. I will try to get something non-sewing related done this week.
Sewing –
- My 52 week sewing challenge for the week was to sew something green, and that didn’t happen. This next week is felt, and I know that’s not happening. Guess it will be another few weeks that I miss the challenges.
- #makenine progress: Nothing new to report on that. I think I need to focus on getting through some of the winter stuff right now before the weather turns. We are in the north, so it really won’t start warming up for about a month.
- I had sewn up another dress for a pattern test that is releasing this next Thursday. Here is a sneak peak of it:
House cleaning/UPdating –
I finally got the paint touched up for the entry hallway up the stairs to the upstairs hallway, but due to the paint sitting for so long, it was pretty obvious where I touched up. *sigh* Can’t win these days. It doesn’t bother me too much, but I may have to get some new paint. I also spackled what I needed to in the upstairs guest bath that I want to repaint, too. That may happen during spring break week. It is the one by my office, so I use it most of the time, and it has needed repainting for a few years. Which is why I bought paint a few years ago. Hopefully it still works fine.
We did get a load dropped off to a charity last week, too. Now we just need to do a drop at Goodwill, and will have a lot of the “need to go” stuff gone. I will be loading up some boxes to go to my preferred charities and when one is full, I will just ship it off.
Time with family –
My parents and sister came over on Saturday night, so we had a really nice visit. I made crab cakes with arugula and remoulade sauce, and yummy gratin potatoes. It is nice to be able to relax and catch up. Relax after cleaning the house all day, of course. 😉
Health, exercising, making healthy meals –
I am starting on a weekly weigh in, so hopefully that will keep me motivated to watch my weight. I have big plans to work out before work, but I need to get to bed at a decent time first. Going to work on that this week.
Creative Design
I got some of my fabric in that I had ordered from Spoonflower. These are mostly Modern Jersey and Performance Pique. That allows them to hold their colors better. Can’t wait to sew them up!
Reading –
I sat down a reread part of a book just to chill out a bit on Sunday night. I do actually like to reread books I like. At least then I know I can stop reading if it gets late.
This is usually me:
The plans for this week, are to start working from home full-time. Yay! Hopefully I can focus a bit more, but who the heck knows. At least I don’t have that commuting time, and running back and forth from home, to deal with anymore.
I have a quick turn around strike-off to do, which I still need to figure out what to do with it. Other than that, I want to get the pillows and valance done for the dining room. Not too much to do this week!
Ugh how annoying! A few more years before I get that joyful experience! Love that frames you’ve used for the test!
That should say *Fabric
Thanks! Yes, the kids really keep us busy with sports and school. It is a learning experience for sure!
I am the same with reading… if I’m not done with the book, I just stay up! This is why I read a lot of juvenile fiction. Then I can get through it really fast.
I have some authors I read that I know are easy reads. I can get through those books pretty fast, too!
