Wow, it has been 3 months since I have posted here. Time sure flies when you have no time (or energy) to do anything crafty.
I carved out some time this past week to get a few things sewed up. I also “lucked out” that the girl’s fastpitch tournament ended with a single elimination tournament game on Sunday morning. We went out to lunch at a place close to the fields and then came home and got some stuff done.
Our kids are in volleyball, and in the past this did not go into summer. Well, I had to go to Vegas with my daughter and now we are going to the nationals tournaments for both of them in June and July. With that said, I sewed up some volleyball fabric I had purchased for them, but never used. It had been sitting there long enough, so I used my skort pattern I made up several years ago.
My pattern has pockets on both sides of the undershorts. Keys on one side and phone on the other!
I also made several racer back tank tops. This one was a shortened version of the Bella Sunshine Sophia dress. The white and black one are bamboo jersey and the gray is a soft, lightweight french terry. This was a basic I really wanted to have, but the black is just a bit too heavy for the drape. The white is a feather-weight knit, and I need to find some black like it. Regardless, all should be very comfortable.
This is a basic tank top with bound edges, and I just cut an overlay. It doesn’t work perfect since there is some sagging with it.
The fabrics are my own fabric designs, and I made it match the skort I made last year. It does match…the lighting is just wonky…
Next I want to make a backpack purse for these tournaments where I am carrying a ton of stuff, along with my big camera and a spare lens or two. I’m not sure I will get it made yet, but hopefully over the next month or so. I don’t want to knock it out quick…I’d like it to be sturdy and full of pockets.
More to come…hopefully. 😉
