Fall comfort style

September 9, 2019

I have been sewing with Wardrobe by Me patterns for several years now, along with using them for pattern hacks.  I have to say that they are great base patterns that you can easily modify and use for wardrobe staples.

This post today is geared towards using the patterns by Wardrobe by Me for staples to use for Fall.  I love fall.  It is time for boots and leggings and warm sweaters, and it isn’t super cold yet.  I live in my boots and tunics.

Luckily my new job is fairly casual, so I can get away with some of my more casual looks for the most part.

This top is made with the Wardrobe by Me Sneha pattern and bamboo lycra.  I used the pattern that had a V-neck option and where the skirt goes off to the side.  I added a channel at each side seam and just a strip of fabric for the ruching.

The neckline was a folded over rectangle that was a little shorter than the neckline.  It was about 16″ doubled up, and I gathered each end.  It stretched out a little bit at the neckline, so some necklaces just helped to hide that!  When doing this neckline, you sew on one side at the V, then you pin and sew the other side.  Next I serged all around starting at the point of the V-neck.

This next top was another bamboo lycra, only this one I ordered custom with my fabric design on it.  I used the Sneha again, only adding a cowl to the neckline.  A pretty simple top, but I know it will get worn often.

Another top I made that is not from Wardrobe by Me, is the Rulo from George and Ginger.  On this one I added the cowl, narrow arms and added length to cover the booty.

I purchased several sweater knits, so this is definitely not the end of my comfy fall sewing!
