I was excited to try to make this top:
The supplies I used was a lace appliqué and a very light, thin cotton gauze. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find lace like the top above. The piece I found was smaller, but thought it would still work. I drafted a pattern, and made it very drapey and long.
Looks like a night shirt…
…which is what it will end up being at this point. I am not much into wearing mumu’s, so it won’t get worn as anything else I will wager.
At least it will be a pretty nightshirt! I think in making this, a chiffon would be better than the cotton. The lace at the bottom is a nice touch and can add some weight so it hangs straighter, too. I didn’t put the lace on, as at that point I figured it wasn’t working.
Onward…to something that will hopefully fit me!
You are right. it does not look like the inspiration picture. I think still cute. I would wear it with a cardigan. 🙂 Keep on sewing. I love seeing your work.
Thanks, Loretta! It is pretty long, so it is fine that I turned it into a nightshirt. It is comfy with the cotton gauze. 🙂
