For Crafty Tuesday, I only have one thing to share this week. I didn’t actually sew this past weekend, though. I was busy dreaming away on what I need to do for the kitchen. Anya and I took a walk around Home Depot and she proclaimed it was her “Favorite Store!” since she got some popcorn from a nice Home Depot lady. They were promoting some grill or some such…I didn’t look at it…we just took the popcorn and ran! 😉
Thanks for all the nice comments and suggestions on the redo…they are so helpful. 🙂
Here is my share for today. This is another skort set for “summer”. She wears it whenever it’s clean, thus the turtleneck underneath.
This design is on the shirt:
Not the best shot of her wearing it, but she wasn’t exactly cooperating. Sometimes you just take what you can get! I processed this shot a bit too bright, too, but hopefully you get the idea. 🙂
So cute. I love how you are designing all the tops to match the skirts. I have plans to make Harper a bunch of skirts for summer, but I am not sure what I am going to do about tops.
Jen, applique on a plain shirt is SO EASY. All you need is double sided fusible interfacing, embroidery stabilizer for the back (just tear off after stitching) and you just use a tight zigzag stitch. Just cut something cute out of the fabric to do the applique. You do such great piecework this should be a piece of cake for you! 🙂
Hi Stacey:
I linked to you today at my blog at Orange County Register.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Wonderful set! It’s nice to see clothes for children designed with such attention to the proportion of the silhouette…and lovely fabrics. So pretty!
SO beautiful!! Do you have a pattern for the skirt that you could share? That is EXACTLY the skirt I have been wanting to make Sophia with some fabric I got a few months ago.
Cute outfit for Anya. Also, I didn’t comment the other day but the sewing you did for yourself was fantastic.
I love the coordinating patterns and colors… you are too good!
I am SO with you on the uncooperative kiddos!
Though her curls were cooperating perfectly 🙂 (drool, drool)
I LOVE it! The drop waist is so cute!
Such a cute outfit! Love the swirls. Your photos always make me drool. You have a creative eye all the way around! I’d be super excited if you’d do a skort tutorial. They work better than skirts for active, busy little girls!
Your kitchen is going to be amazing. Love the colors.
Thanks everyone! I will get that tutorial done for next week…I promise. 🙂
A.DOR.ABLE! I love it. The twirly skirt is such a hit in our house right now. I must get on making some for spring/summer. It could be so much cheaper if I only had the time. Precious, precious time!
Ummm I want that skirt! lol Heck I want that whole outfit!!! 🙂 Beautiful work!!! 🙂
I love the skirt design. The picture is great, the look on her face is like “are you done yet?”. Was she off and running as soon as the shutter closed? (LOL)
Is it bad to like that skirt for myself? It’s cute!
Lovely job and lovely girl~ Her hair is so beautiful!
🙂
I love the length of the skirts that you make and how they are so free flowing. They look so cute on Anya. Great work Stacy!
Cute skort! All the swirlies go nicely with your emblazed t-shirt image. If I didn’t know better I’d say the green outline in the tee goes quite nicely with the green in the skirt. Charming as usual. 🙂
Skorts are the best aren’t they? Great for active girls who still want to look girly. This is gorgeous. No wonder she wants to wear it all the time. You find the best material. There never seems to be anything decent when I go looking.
