Perhaps it is my Type A personality. Perhaps I just need a routine in my life in order to not go off my rocker from a crazy schedule. One thing is for certain…I can’t just “exercise whenever I have time”. That time will never arrive, I can guarantee that.
I started my exercise routine on June 27th. In that time I have only missed a few days of exercising. If it is all possible, I exercise…usually around 8:30 or 9:00 pm.
I can only exercise at night, due to my lazy-not-a-morning-person body. If I try to do it in the morning, it is a substandard workout. I have no energy, so I just can’t push myself. On the weekends I can do it at around 10 am, though. During the week, I would have to get up at 5:45 and that is just not going to happen.
My exercise is cardio with a little weights thrown in for good measure…oh, and crunches of some sort. Those abs are floppy, floppy, floppy. They need a good workout. I have started out on the elliptical and I’m slowly ramping up my pace. The first day I barely made 2 miles in 30 minutes. Now I’m adding in time and working towards 3 miles and upping the calories burned. This is not a ton, but better than the nothing that I was doing before.
I’m also doing some weight exercises on the Bowflex. I need to figure out a good routine, where I know which exercises to do in a certain way to make it go faster. I’m feeling my way through them right now.
Those 5 flights of stairs at work?? Yeah, they still suck, but at least I’m not wheezing like a 90 year old when I get to the top.
In short…I rather dislike exercising; however, at least I can read my books while I do my cardio. It is better than sitting in a chair reading a book and not burning any calories.
It also enables me to finally take the tags off this dress after having it hanging in my closet for 4 years…
Until next time.
